The Harnett County Aquatic
Club endeavors to provide an environment in
which every swimmer competes at his or her own
level. The Hurricanes have no bench warmers!
The following practice groups are available.
All practices are held at Campbell University's
Nathan
Johnson Natatorium in Buies Creek NC.
Bronze Group: Beginning
Age Group Swimmers (10 and Under)
This group is for age group swimmers (10 and
younger) who are being introduced to swimming
and want to learn the basic competitive strokes
and techniques. Swimmers in this group typically
practice two-to-four times per week. Many swimmers
from this group attend local meets.
Practices: Monday-Friday,
5:00-6:00 (with some Saturday practices to be
announced)
Silver Group: Intermediate
Age Group Swimmers (12 and Under)
This group is for age group swimmers (12 and
younger) who have intermediate-to-advanced skill
levels. Swimmers in this group will be developing
advanced stroke technique and conditioning for
competition at local, state, and regional swim
meets. Swimmers in this group typically practice
three-to-five times per week.
Practices: Monday-Friday,
4:30-6:00 (with some Saturday practices to be
announced)
Gold Group: Advanced Age
Group Swimmers (13 to 18)
This group is for the most advanced age group
swimmers 13 to 18 years old. These swimmers
have shown a strong dedication to the sport
of swimming; have competing at state, regional,
and national level as their goal; and are anticipating
extending their swimming career into college.
Gold Group practice
expectations include morning workouts, afternoon
workouts, and weight training. These training
sessions are counted cumulatively throughout
a week. It is expected that a Gold Group swimmer
attend at least 90% of their training regiment
on a weekly basis.
Practices:
Mon/Wed/Fri: 4:30-5:45 a.m.
swimming and 4:00-6:00 p.m. swimming
Saturday: 6:45-8:15 a.m. swimming
(Weight Training is optional for age 14 & up only)
